The NAT Story

In 2020, Indigenous tourism came to a complete standstill due to the COVID-19 pandemic.  Because tourism is the economic lifeblood of Indigenous communities, countless restaurants, hotels, stores and tours closed their doors – some never to return.  The economic consequences of the pandemic are still reverberating today, with many Indigenous tours struggling to reach their pre-2020 sales.

Upon witnessing this, Wyatt Gilmore, owner of a successful digital marketing agency and member of the Navajo Nation, vowed to not only rebuild Indigenous tourism, but do everything in his power to make it stronger than ever.  Together with other Native entrepreneurs and tour operators, they spent over two years developing and testing Native American Tours – the first ticketing software dedicated exclusively to Indigenous tourism.

Today, Native American Tours is more than just a booking platform.  It is designed specifically to overcome what Indigenous tour operators told us were their biggest barriers to success.  This includes a secure, user-friendly interface that makes it easier to drive sales directly from the tour website, detailed reporting to help with compliance with Tribal and state governments, as well as a proprietary affiliate management portal to manage affiliates more efficiently and effectively.

NAT is also building a state of the art Indigenous tourism network, connecting Indigenous tour operators with surrounding Tribal small businesses.  This allows for cross-marketing opportunities, giving tourists the ability to build their own itineraries and combo tours, and keeps Native tourism dollars within Native lands.

Finally, every year, NAT donates 10% of all net revenue back into Indigenous communities.

Together, we will make the Indigenous tourism economy stronger than ever.  If you’d like to be a part of this effort, get in touch with us today, and see what NAT can do for you.
